This episode of Hybrid Atlanta features Colombian artist Esteban Patiño. He talks about the relation between language, art, and arbitrary symbols; and his project with the High Museum of Art. After being based in Atlanta for 12 years, he describes the local art scene: “It’s in a small peak,” he says.
Hybrid Atlanta is a video series of interviews with local artists and creatives whose work establishes a dialogue with LatinX and global cultures.
Created by Paul Alonso, it is produced by Polivision, a multimedia and bilingual outlet based in Atlanta.

![Interview with Peruvian filmmaker Martin Guerra by @paulalonso1 . Guerra has premiered in Spain and Latin America his feature film “Los Bárbaros” [The Barbarians], co-directed with Javier Barbero.
The film is set during the Spanish crisis around 2010 and follows three young people living in an abandoned building on the outskirts of Madrid. Indie, contemplative, and with subtle humor, “Los Bárbaros” portrays the disillusionment of a generation with the promises of liberal democracies. We talk about precarity, migration, and chickens.
