Do you know the Jon Stewart of Mexico? It’s not a Jewish New Yorker dressed in an expensive suit. It’s a clown who drinks, does drugs, and tells vulgar, misogynistic jokes in a raspy smoker’s voice. But he also reports the news, and rants against the establishment and the political elites. The second episode of Polivision–a video show about LatinX & global cultures–tells the story of Brozo, el payaso Tenebroso, one of the most influential political communicators of his country, and his place in Mexico’s satirical tradition.
Created by Paul Alonso, Polivision is a bilingual and multimedia outlet based in Atlanta, Georgia, that covers Latin(o) American and Global Cultures.
